Presidential Service Corp Award
Following 9/11, President George W. Bush called on all Americans to serve their communities, their Nation, and their world.In his 2002 State of the Union Address, he announced the creation of USA Freedom Corps to connect Americans with more opportunities to serve their country and to foster a culture of citizenship, responsibility, and service.
On Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 President George W. Bush presented the Presidents Volunteer Service Award to Barbara MacLean upon arrival at the airport in Phoenix, Arizona. Barbara MacLean is the founder of Face in the Mirror Foundation which provides encouragement and pampering to women with cancer. The US Freedom Corp. lapel bin was given to her by the President, for her tireless effort of giving hope to the many woman in Arizona who are suffering from cancer.
