We have had a beautiful Christmas holiday tea party with melodious Christmas music provided by guest harpist, Adrienne Bridgewater. Manicures or shoulder massages were offered as a special gift.

Some of our featured speakers include Deborah Harinson RN, BSN, CNOR, HN-B, a board certified holistic registered nurse who taught on the holistic benefits of laughter and good attitudes.  We've also had St. Joseph's David Brachman M.D.,  speak on "Leveling the Playing Field: What you need to know to talk to an oncologist.".   AIG Little, a Cancer Life Coach talked about life coaching.    Jamie Meyers and Suzy Wilke of the Cancer Workout Center of Phoenix provided an educational emphasis on how you can work out/feel better through exercise especially for cancer patients.   M & M Physical Therapy, LLC was a featured speaker who taught about Pain and Relaxation techniques.

So as you can see we offer many exciting educational and motivational subjects to benefit everyone who attends our tea parties. Come hear and enjoy for yourself. You'll be glad you did.

Besides our monthly tea party, Face in the Mirror also offers the following outreach to patients in various departments of St. Joseph's Hospital. We strive to help every woman who wants to be encouraged and uplifted by our outreach!

The Mission of Face in the Mirror volunteers are seeing the Oncology patients and the Radiology/Cyberknife out patients each week at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center.

Jacqueline Herrera, heads up this expansion, along with other volunteers, in giving the woman with cancer a relaxing personal makeover as well as their own beautiful bag of cosmetics.  One husband, after seeing his wife change right before his very eyes, began singing to her in front of the entire radiation department as she sat with tears of joy, a pretty face, a new wig, and seeing herself as she remembered herself to be!

Location: Oncology In-patient
Time: Thursday 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM and by appointment.

Location: Radiation, Oncology, Cyber Knife Department
Time: Thursday 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and by appointment.

Please let your nurse know if you would like a makeover in either Radiation Oncology or Oncology In-patient Departments.

The future is now brighter for the woman with cancer, at St. Joseph Hospital because of Face in the Mirror and it's wonderful volunteers. If you would like to take part in this outreach or know a patient who would like us to visit, contact Heather at heather@areasuccess.com.
